Sutton Staithe and the surrounding area
Local attractions
The Staithe at Sutton is a picturesque location on the River Ant in the heart of the Norfolk Broads. Day boats can be hired from the Staithe and fishing is permissible with a rod licence.
Sutton village boasts the largest corn mill in the country at nine storeys’ high and, whilst not open to the public, it is well worth a look. The village is also home to a small pottery studio.
Nearby are the popular broadland villages of Wroxham, Horning and Potter Heigham. The small market town of Stalham is the home of the Broads museum and is just minutes away.
The beach at Sea Palling is four miles, with Happisburgh, Winterton, Eccles and Cromer beaches a little further. Both Norwich (17 miles) and Great Yarmouth (15 miles) are easily accessible.
